When you can’t go to the movies, bring the movies to your home. Seniors want to have fun too. They aren’t just sitting around and would enjoy watching a movie, or two. Sharing a movie with your senior is a great way to spend time together. You don’t have to have a fancy set up to enjoy a movie but here are a few suggestions to bring the cinematic experience home, no matter where that may be.
Creating a Home Theater:
- Consider a big flat-screen TV or Projector
- Think about where you will be most comfortable to watch your movie. You can hang a white sheet on a wall and use a projector, or if you have a decent sized TV, you can just play the movie on it
- Some of the most affordable places to buy a projector or TV is Best Buy or Target
- Hook up a speaker to hear the film
- You can find affordable speakers online at Amazon, Best Buy or Walmart
- Stream a film online or rent a disc from a rental service such as Redbox
- Check into Netflix, Hulu, Disney and more. These services are generally reasonable in price
- Snacks, Popcorn and Soda
- No movie experience is complete with out your favorite snacks. Consider sending a movie snack pack to your loved one. Include things like popcorn, M&M’s, red-vines or black licorice
- Consider ordering products online from Snacking.com, Orville.com, Walmart,or Amazon
